Since 1972, the McPherson's have been one of the most well known family businesses within the document management industry. TR McPherson Microfilm Services was where it all started for the McPherson's.
Moving with the digital age, this evolved to McPherson Document Solutions.
Today, the grandson of the original founder, along with a team of specialists, continues the heritage. Utilising have the knowledge, equipment and the same passion and desire to work with clients to meet their document, drawing and microfilm digitisation and archive records management requirements, in this fast moving and exciting digital age.

Document Scanning (business cards - A3 dimensions)

At the core our business is digitisation of paper files. Scanning not only saves space, reduce business overheads and improve office productivity, but can ensure compliance with the many digital and record keeping legal requirements businesses are required to adhere to.
Using market leading production software and high volume scanners, we digitise your files to fully searchable PDF files with relevant meta data to meet your individual needs.
The MDA team will prepare the documents prior to digitisation - removal of staples, paperclips etc. Using ISO approved quality and security systems, data will be captured and stored in a compliant manner. Once complete, we will ensure hard copies are either returned, stored or securely shredded.

Microfilm Scanning

Microfilm was the original 'must have' document management system. Able to hold a host of data in a small compressed format.
Many businesses still hold critical information in this historical system.
However, microfilm is fragile. Prone to damage if not kept in the correct environment.
If not refiled in the correct order, can be time consuming to search for files.
Support and maintenance for specialist viewers and printers is now costly with parts often difficult to come by.
MDA, will digitise all formats of microfilm to fully searchable pdf files with tailored meta data / naming conventions.
The images can then be imported directly in to your existing electronic filing system (EDMS or ERMS).

Confidential Shredding

Paper shredding is crucial for not only security of data, but to ensure environmental compliance.
McPherson's, offer a host of paper, cardboard and even microfilm shredding, to ensure our clients data is securely destroyed to industry standard EN15713. Full audit trail of paperwork with certificate of destruction provided.
One off clear-outs, provide locked paper shredding cabinets or post scanning shredding, here at McPherson's we work with our clients to meet their individual needs to ensure their data is securely destroyed to a compliant manner.

Hardware - Photocopiers, printers and scanners

Although the level of printing we all do is reducing, paper still plays a crucial part for many organisations.
Here at McPherson's, we supply market leading A4 - A3 desktop and stand alone photocopiers, colour or simply mono. Either purchase it outright and we can support you with toners and servicing or we offer very competitive finance rates which are tailored to your needs.
We can even rent out our scanners and personnel to work in your offices to digitise paperwork, if moving the hard copy files is a concern.

Large Format Drawing Scanning (A3 - A0+ dimensions)

Drawings not only take up space to store, but are not waterproof, they become fragile over time and are prone to historical damage.
Working with physical large format drawings is not user friendly in the field.
Using specialist drawing scanners, MDA digitise to high standards of full colour images.
Scans can be provided in a range of formats, although PDF with OCR is by far the most common.
Tailored meta data / indexing will be assigned to each drawing, to ensure quick and accurate retrieval.
Even the most fragile and damaged drawings can be captured to a high standard.

Archive Box Storage

MDA are Glasgow based, where our secure offsite storage facility is popular with clients who do not have the space or desire to store their own paper or microfilm files on their own site.
The facility has Dexion type racking, which ensures boxes are stored at least 6 inches off the floor. Premises and site hav 24/7 security cameras, fire alarm and suppression system as well as intruder alarm.
The storage facility has controlled entry for staff only, with no windows or skylights.
If stored items are required by the client, they can be returned to the client hard copy, or digitally scanned and returned via secure cloud platform. Use your own boxes or MDA can provide boxes. As long as boxes are secure, intact and able to be carried by one person.
Storage can often be a cheaper solution, compared to scanning
